This story touched my heart.
In 2002, Teresa Clay appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and shared her unforgettable story of abuse, revealing that her mother’s boyfriend had been sexually molesting her for years. When she found the courage to tell her mother, her mom chose the boyfriend over her.
forgiveness of the past
While I do not share her exact experience, I have been subject to similar situations as a child, and I know how difficult it can be to forgive the ones who are either directly responsible, or the ones who didn’t believe you when you reached out for help.
