It is so hard to believe that Christmas is only a few short days away! There is so many things that I have to do to prepare and so many gifts to buy for my family! With me being so busy, waiting in line (you know, those very long lines), fighting to get a parking space in the cold, is just not an option for me. Not only that, but sometimes trying to ‘surprise’ everyone with a gift that I think that will like can be a real challenge.
So this year, I have decided to make gift giving easy! I am changing strategy and getting all of my family members to create a holiday wish list at MyRegistry.com. It is not just me, more and more families are going digital with their wish lists to Santa by creating holiday gift registries too. It is so simple and best of all, it keeps the joy in the season by being able to forgo the long lines at the checkout counters.
At MyRegistry.com, a holiday wish list is universal. Items can be added from any store in the world onto one list and shared on numerous social media platforms, e-cards or a just simple link. For families with kids, a holiday registry wards off embarrassing questions of having to choose specific items to tell the other family members to purchase. It is also really fun experience to sit down with your children and create the lists as a family. And since kids usually know exactly what they want for the holidays, allowing them to make an online wish list is complete nirvana.
For those with a friend or family member that just can’t get it right in the gift department – here is your chance to make it easy for them! Leaving a page open from a magazine of your favorite handbag or shoes may be a nice subtle hint, but spelling it out on a wish list makes sure that you really get what you were hoping for!
Some naysayers might say “it isn’t polite to ask for things” and “this is not in the spirit of the holiday season,” but I say “Nay” back to them! Anything that can make gift giving easy for the holidays is exactly in the spirit of the season, like writing to a letter to Santa when we were children – only it comes with a direct link, no waiting in the stores, and hopefully free shipping! 🙂
