This is the most difficult Music Mondays I have ever done. This time, it is very personal.
Two weeks ago, I suffered a very tragic loss in my family. My niece, who was a senior in college, suddenly and very unexpectedly passed away.
Just yesterday, my family was hit with another blow: a second tragic and unexpected passing—within the same family unit.
As I am still very much at a loss for words about it, I know in my heart that recounting what has happened repeatedly in my mind is not the answer. It will not help anything in the process of my healing. I know that in the midst of my hurt and sadness, the best thing that I can do for myself is to stay prayerful, keep my head lifted, and use every once of strength that has been gifted to me by the Universe to press forward.
This week’s Music Mondays selection is not just for me in this moment, but I also dedicate it to anyone else out there who may be going through some real rough times right now—particularly those who are experiencing the pain of loss as I am. Please take comfort in the fact that you are not alone. Know that if you just hold on and stay moving, you will receive the encouragement and strength that you need to see you through.
