Rosario Dawson was recently seen promoting Prince’s Welcome to Chicago residency concerts benefiting the Rebuild the Dream Organization, and now she is adding more to her list of social causes by raising awareness of domestic violence. .

This month Rosario Dawson teams with Allstate Foundation to support The Purple Purse, and initiative designed to increase the conversations, thoughts, and actions of ending domestic violence. In conjunction with Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October, the Allstate Foundation hopes to raise $175,000 for donation to the YWCA for programs across the country aimed at helping survivors of domestic violence and other women in need.

This year, the Allstate Foundation is making it possible and easy for everyone to get involved via the internet. Through the end of October, for each person who shares or re-shares a virtual purple purse on Facebook.com/PurplePurse, the Allstate Foundation will donate $5 to the YWCA. .

“As an advocate to end violence against women, I know that most people agree it is hard to talk about domestic violence,” said Dawson. “Resources like the Purple Purse are very important as they give victims, and those who want to help, the power to do something and speak up without shame or fear.” .

No one should ever be a victim of domestic violence or suffer in silence. As Rosario Dawson teams with Allstate Foundation, kudos to her for lending her voice to encourage others to make a difference.
