It was a magical, whimsical night at The Magic House Children’s Museum St. Louis for their summer movie series!

After weeks and weeks of never-ending rain, the kids and I were finally able to get out of the house and take in some summer fun! The latest feature for The Magic House summer movie series was The Wizard of Oz. I must admit that I was just just as excited about it as the kids were!

The Magic House pulled out all of the stops for the special evening. A yellow brick road lead us to the front entrance of the museum, and we were greeted at the door by the stars of the film: Dorothy, Scarecrow, and Glenda the Good Witch.

Once inside, we all got a chance to explore our creative side, plus engage in a little bit of science fun! Crafting tables were set up for families to make their own custom Wizard of Oz glasses. There was even a very fun science experiment that involved creating tornadoes.

The snacks for the movie night were not to be outdone! A table of ruby red slipper cookies stretched long and wide in the family area. Tied by a lovely blue and white ribbon similar to the ones Dorothy wears in her hair, these treats were much too beautiful to eat!

After about an hour of fun and exploration of the museum, .it was time for us to settle in to enjoy our feature presentation. With our favorite family blankets and pillows, we gathered to watch one of our most beloved classic films, The Wizard of Oz. .
