There’s no question that advanced personal vaporizers (APVs) and the practice of vaping has grown by leaps and bounds in popularity, just as usage of cigarettes has plunged. In fact, new research from the CDC shows that smoking continues to decline, even as the popularity of vaping surges. One study of data from 2014 finds nearly 2-million former smokers reported vaping during the prior month, and of that group, 85% said they had quit smoking in the prior five years, when e-cigarettes and vaporizers were widely available.

vapingA new joint statement on e-cigarettes recently issued by the British organization Public Health England and a dozen public health groups, proclaims vapor products and e-cigarettes to be far less hazardous than cigarettes as well as an effective tool for quitting cigarettes.

Unlike smoking tobacco, an e-cigarette or vaporizer does not involve combustion of tobacco, making it a healthier alternative to traditional cigarettes. Instead, the vaporizer device uses a battery-powered atomizer which generates low level heat to vaporize a flavored “e-liquid,” which is inhaled.

This wildly popular trend shows no sign of stopping. In addition, many of the benefits of vaporizers outweigh those of e-cigarettes.  Many experts say that portable and desktop vaporizers can be healthier because the nearly odorless vapor doesn’t produce smoke and the vapors themselves do not release harmful substances into the atmosphere.
